The Children, Young People and Education Committee is undertaking a short inquiry on children’s rights in Wales to review the impact of the Rights of Children and Young Persons (Wales) Measure 2011. It will consider:
The Committee would be grateful to receive stakeholders’ evidence by 17:00, Friday 20 September 2019.
How can young people have their say in the inquiry?
Meeting in a Box – Resource pack
The committee want to hear from young people about:
1. How well children know their rights;
2. If children think they have access to these rights; and
3. Which rights are most important to them.
To empower the young people you work with to share their views on this matter we have designed a lesson plan and resources that youth workers, teachers and group leaders can deliver with up to 35 young people, within an hour.
The Meeting in a Box resource pack is available for you to adapt to suit your group so that the session suits the learners.
After running the sessions we’re asking the leader to complete a 15 minute survey to share what was learnt and feed into the wider inquiry.
Download the pack and all the resources below, or contact Rhayna Mann to request a hard copy version.
