Follow-up work on Brexit preparedness


A key strand of the External Affairs and Additional Legislation Committee’s work has been to explore the issue of Brexit preparedness. This work has previously encompassed:

The Committee is now undertaking follow-up work on Brexit preparedness.

Evidence gathering

The Committee took evidence from the Welsh Local Government Association, Universities Wales, and the Welsh NHS Confederation during its meeting on 20 May 2019, and from the Federation of Small Businesses Wales during its meeting on 3 June 2019. The Committee received written evidence from Wales Trades Union Congress (PDF,111KB), and Food and Drink Wales (PDF,120KB).

Following the sessions and receipt of written evidence, on 19 June 2019 the Chair wrote (PDF, 188KB) to the Counsel General and Brexit Minister about Brexit preparedness in Wales. The Counsel General and Brexit Minister responded (PDF,302KB) on 18 July 2019.
