The Auditor General published this report on 13 November which examines the changing face of rural Wales and looks at the demographic challenges in providing council services to dispersed communities. The Auditor General found that councils are not yet finding sustainable ways to help rural communities overcome the challenges they face and has called on local authorities in Wales to think and act differently to sustain services in rural communities.
The Public Accounts Committee noted the Report and brought it to the attention of the following Committees:
· Climate Change, Environment and Rural Affairs Committee;
· Economy, Infrastructure and Skills Committee; and the
· Equality, Local Government and Communities Committee.
