Town centre regeneration: 5 years on

Town centre regeneration: 5 years on

The first inquiry undertaken by the Enterprise and Business Committee of the Fourth Assembly considered the way in which the Welsh Government used the levers at its disposal to assist in the regeneration of town centres in Wales.

After taking evidence in the autumn of 2011, the Committee published its report in January 2012, highlighting the main challenges facing Wales’ town centres and making 21 recommendations for addressing them.

The Economy, Infrastructure and Skills Committee will undertake a short follow-up inquiry on town centre regeneration. Prior to the formal meeting with the Minister for Housing and Regeneration the Committee will be holding an informal session with stakeholders to hear their views on the main issues facing town centres in the future.
