News Journalism in Wales

The Culture, Welsh Language and Communications Committee notes the main local media trends of mergers, job-losses and declining print circulation – and correspondingly declining revenues – as documented in the Institute of Welsh Affairs’ 2015 Media Audit. As such, it is keen to focus its work on exploring new and innovative models to support news journalism in Wales. Given the clarity of the problem the inquiry will focus specifically on finding an effective solution within the Welsh context.
