As part of its programme of work on the sustainability of the health and social care workforce, the Health, Social Care and Sport Committee has agreed to undertake a short, focused inquiry on medical recruitment. This follows on from the Fourth Assembly Health and Social Care Committee’s inquiry on the GP workforce, and is also informed by the Committee’s consultation and survey which ran over summer 2016.
It is anticipated that further pieces of work throughout the Fifth Assembly will consider issues relating to the broader health and care workforce.
