Proposals for legislation on displaying food hygiene ratings

The Welsh Government issued a consultation on 14 December 2011 to seek views on its proposals for legislation to make it compulsory for food businesses in Wales to display information on their hygiene standards (their food hygiene rating). The consultation closed on 7 March 2012. More information about the Welsh Government’s consultation is available on its website.

 

The National Assembly for Wales’ Health and Social Care Committee received a factual briefing from Welsh Government officials on 2 February 2012 to provide an overview of the Draft Food Hygiene Rating (Wales) Bill, the strategy of the consultation and timeline for the next steps.
