Description: The Wales Governance Centre is pleased to host a discussion by Peter Hain and Paul Silk on the Constitution Reform Group’s Act of Union Bill. The CRG’s draft Act of Union Bill was introduced to the House of Lords last month, in order to “rebalance and stabilise the constitutional relationships between the four nations of the United Kingdom”. In the context of Brexit and the major pressures being placed on the UK constitution, Peter Hain, the former Secretary of State for Wales and for Northern Ireland, and Paul Silk, who chaired the influential Commission on Devolution in Wales, will outline the contents of the Bill and the vision it presents for a reformed United Kingdom.
