This Week's Business Minutes: Business Managers discussed the Letwin amendment on
environmental protection to the EU (Withdrawal) Bill currently making its way
through Parliament, and whether a supplementary LCM was needed. Business
Managers agreed that a supplementary LCM would have no practical effect on the
Bill’s passage at this stage, as the amendment has now been ‘locked down’. The UK Government has given assurances on the
record in Parliament that, despite its drafting being slightly unclear, the
amendment will apply only to England and reserved matters. Business Managers requested a briefing on the
effects of the amendment. Tuesday ·
