As a young person who was sometimes the subject of reasonable punishment (in 90s and early 00s) I can clearly see that this is not an effective way to discipline children to ensure a safe and loving environment. Creating a clearly defined law around this will ensure that there are appropriate safeguards for both children and parents and allow additional support when required.

Yes - as above, then will ensure that there is are statutory safeguards in place to safeguard children and assist in prevent physical abuse to children.
