There is currently sufficient legislation in place to deal with child abuse.
It has had limited effect due to the difficulty in enforcement.
A definition of "acceptable effective chastisement" would be impossible.
To criminalise parents who are capable of administering what would widely be seen as "acceptable effective chastisement" is profoundly wrong.
